Specification Requirements for Dosage of Polycarboxylic Water Reducing Agent

Aug 03, 2019

1. The content of Polycarboxylic Water Reducer should be expressed as a percentage of the total amount of cementitious materials or as a ml/kg cementitious material.

2. The dosage of polycarboxylic superplasticizer should be determined by the factors such as the recommended dosage of the supplier, the use requirements, the construction conditions, the raw materials of concrete and so on.

3. Additives containing chloride ions and sulfate ions shall comply with the provisions of this Code and related standards.

4. When using alkali-activated aggregate, the alkali content of concrete in contact with water or in wet environment should not exceed 1 kg/m3, and the total alkali content of concrete should conform to the relevant standards.

When preparing concrete mixtures with Polycarboxylic Water Reducer in commercial concrete mixing station, the moisture content in raw material aggregate must be measured accurately and deducted from the total water consumption, so as to prevent the occurrence of adverse consequences caused by the water content in aggregate. It should be measured strictly according to the optimum water reducing rate and water consumption determined by the laboratory, and should not increase the amount of water reducing agent or water consumption at will, so as to avoid the harmful phenomena such as segregation, bleeding, hardening and increase of air content of concrete, which will affect the normal pumping construction and pouring quality of concrete.
