Mechanism of action
The core function of TPEG monomer is to achieve efficient dispersion of cement particles through steric hindrance effect and electrostatic repulsion, and has slow-release characteristics to prolong the workability of concrete.

Steric hindrance effect
The long polyoxyethylene (PEO) side chain (such as EO=45~120) in the TPEG molecule forms a thick hydration layer on the surface of cement particles, preventing particles from approaching and maintaining dispersion stability.
Electrostatic repulsion
The carboxylic acid group (-COOH) and sulfonic acid group (-SO₃H) on the main chain are adsorbed on the surface of cement particles, making the particles negatively charged and enhancing repulsion.
2. Slow-release slump-preserving effect
The ester bond (such as MPEG) in the TPEG molecule slowly hydrolyzes in an alkaline cement slurry environment, continuously releasing the carboxylic acid group, prolonging the dispersion time and reducing the slump loss.
Suitable for high temperature environment (>30℃) and long-distance transportation of concrete.
3. Hydration regulation
Through the chelation of carboxyl and Ca²⁺, the early hydration of C₃A and C₃S is delayed, and the hydration heat release rate is reduced, which is suitable for large-volume concrete.
